FANUC Robotics Introduces the New i Pendant with an Integrated Web Browser.

FANUC Robotics North America, Inc. is debuting the i Pendant with an integrated web browser in an arc welding application at the International Robots & Vision Expo 2001 in booth #300 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont (Chicago), Ill., from June 5 to 7.

The i Pendant is a new color graphic user interface device to the FANUC SYSTEM R-J3i MODEL B Controller that is based on Internet technology. The pendant includes an integrated Internet web browser allowing critical support information to be accessed right from the robot. Users can access corporate web sites, FANUC electronic documentation/manuals and advanced diagnostic and part information. It provides a single point of access to web-based information.

The i Pendant has an intuitive multi-window display, which makes the i Pendant easy to use and learn. Users of FANUC Robotics' new i Pendant can expect to see increased uptime due to integrated diagnostics and decreased training time since it is compatible with the current teach pendant and includes integrated help functions.

The ergonomically designed i Pendant improves operator efficiency since it has easier navigation and custom screens for applications and installations. It has a customizable interface where users can create customized web pages based on their needs.

The new i Pendant, with its large color LCD display, is interchangeable with FANUC Robotics' standard teach pendant on the recently introduced RJ-3i Model B robot controller and can be purchased as an upgrade option for the RJ- 3i Model B in late 2001. The i Pendant can be connected to the factory network through the Ethernet in the robot controller. Users can also touch-up points with the i Pendant and immediately verify on the teach pendant that the program works correctly.
