SA: Man recaptured in SA after allegedly escaping from jail

ADELAIDE, Aug 16 AAP - A prisoner who allegedly escaped a South Australian jail has
been recaptured after spending almost 24 hours on the run, police say.

The 21-year-old man allegedly escaped from Port Lincoln prison on the Eyre Peninsula
on Monday night, but was recaptured about 5.30pm (CST) yesterday, a police spokesman said.

The man was found in scrubland about 30km south of Whyalla after allegedly dumping a stolen car.

He has been charged with escaping lawful custody and traffic offences.
