Qld: Beattie welcomes Kaiser as Woodridge candidate

BRISBANE, Jan 10 AAP - Queensland Premier Peter Beattie today hailed former ALP state
secretary Mike Kaiser as a great candidate for the state seat of Woodridge.

Mr Kaiser, 36, was today pre-selected by the Labor Party unopposed to run for Woodridge
in the February 5 by-election.

"Mike Kaiser is a great local candidate - he was born at Woodridge, he's raising his
own family in the area and he understands local concerns and issues," Mr Beattie said
